Types of Sessions:

  • FD: "Facilitated Discussions." Join a group discussion with volunteer facilitators. Propose a discussion by actually putting it in the schedule.
  • Demo: "Short Demonstrations." Show how you are helping to meet the NETS.
  • SS: "Success Stories." Bring your success stories to these sessions, for both showcase and discussion. 30-minute discussions of what has worked, around specific lessons, units, projects for what grade levels and standards.

[from Carolyn Sykora] The National Educational Technology Standards (NETS) serve as benchmarks for the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed for students to succeed in today's digital world. Technology's evolution over the past decade has brought some urgency to ISTE to refresh them. In 2007, the refreshed NETS for Students were released and this year at NECC the NETS for Teachers will be unveiling. ISTE also plans to launch the NETS for Administrators Refresh at NECC.

The questions I continue to hear are: "What do the standards look like in the classroom?" and "How can they be measured or assessed?" As the NETS Project Manager, I would like to schedule Q&A's or informal presentations that can help to answer those questions for the refreshed student and teacher standards. That discussion has begun on the NETS Implementation wiki.

Schedule: Please schedule events in the grid below.

Please note that on Sunday the Opening Keynote will be simulcast into the lounges, and the lounges will be locations for some of the Opening Reception festivities.
